October 2026
Political money (FEC itemized, top records)

7. Musk: about $250M itemized to America PAC in the 2024 cycle, plus RBG PAC ($20.5M), Senate Leadership Fund ($10M) and MAHA Alliance ($6M). In total, roughly $293M across his 95 itemized 2024 records. In the 2026 cycle so far, about $91M, including America PAC (about $50M), Senate Leadership Fund/SLF PAC, CLF and Fight for Kentucky ($10M each), and MAGA Inc. ($5M) [V].
8. Andreessen and Horowitz: $33.5M each to Fairshake (crypto super PAC) in 2024; Andreessen $25M to "Leading the Future" (AI super PAC) and $3M to MAGA Inc. in 2026 [V]. Karp gave $1M to MAGA Inc. on 12 Dec 2024 (after giving $360K to the Harris Victory Fund in 2023), then 2025 checks to NRCC/"Grow the Majority" and to Senate-candidate PACs [V]. Thiel was nearly absent in 2024 (under $3K itemized). In 2026 he gave $852K to "Grow the Majority" (25 Feb 2025) and $1.5M to Club for Growth Action [V]. Luckey gave $200K to the Trump 47 Committee (June 2024) and to the RNC and Thune [V]. Name-matching caveats apply; the top-100 cap understates totals.
9. Revolving door (contracts/revolving_door.csv):
- Palantir's CTO Shyam Sankar was commissioned an Army Reserve lieutenant colonel (Detachment 201, 13 June 2025), along with executives from OpenAI and Meta (Army) [V-s]. Seven weeks later the Army gave Palantir the $10B single-bid enterprise agreement.
- OSTP director Kratsios is Thiel's former chief of staff, and AI czar Sacks has invested in Palantir (FedScoop) [V-s].
- Feinberg (Cerberus) was confirmed Deputy SecDef, and Emil Michael Under Secretary for R&E [V-s].
10. DOGE → Palantir:
- At least three DOGE members had worked at Palantir, and Palantir's selection as chief vendor for cross-agency data work "was driven by" DOGE (NYT, May 2025, entered into the House record: PDF) [V-s].
- DOGE and Palantir built an IRS "mega API," with the goal of making Foundry the "read center of all IRS systems" (Wired) [V-s].
- The IRS stretched an existing criminal-investigations purchase agreement so IT could buy through it without a new procurement (FedScoop) [V-s].
